Peel & Holland’s team is full of talent, energy, and innovative thinking that rivals the best in the industry. As evidence of that, we are proud to announce that one of our own, Brittney Stinnett, has been recognized as one who rises above the rest. Insurance Business America (IBA), a global business magazine, revealed its annual list of “Rising Stars 2021” which celebrates 69 young professionals from across the United States who have gone the extra mile for their clients, colleagues, organizations, and the insurance industry as a whole.
IBA invited insurance professionals from across the country to nominate their most exceptional young talent for their annual Rising Stars list. Nominees had to be age 35 or younger and show clear commitment to and passion for the insurance industry. Nominated by her peers at Peel & Holland, Brittney was evaluated based on her current role, key achievements, career goals, and the contributions she is making in shaping the industry.

Rising Up in the Insurance Industry
It’s sometimes said that insurance isn’t ideal for a young person’s career, but the Peel & Holland leadership team would highly dispute that, saying that the industry actually offers many things that idealistic, self-driving young professionals seek.
Risk Advisors such as Brittney Stinnett become closely involved with their clients’ business goals and challenges, aligning as their trusted partner. The job requires strong relationship skills, analytical thinking, perseverance, and high standards. Knowing about insurance products is only a part of what makes a successful career in insurance.
“Insurance is people-oriented. It’s all about understanding someone’s most concerning worries and doing everything possible to put their mind at ease,” explains Stinnett. “It’s true that I never expected my career path to shift from healthcare to insurance sales, but it’s been surprisingly rewarding. I have a passion for helping others, and I’d say the same is true for others on the Rising Stars list as well. Being listed among them is quite an honor.”
As she continues to hone her skills and rise up as an insurance industry leader, Stinnett specializes in property and general liability coverage with specific expertise in helping control Worker’s Comp costs. Most of her clients are within the construction industry. Since Stinnett’s father has worked his entire career in the construction world, her know-how of the industry comes naturally for her. Brittney is involved with the Association of General Contractors of Western Kentucky where she facilitates insurance workshops for their members. She is an alum of the Leadership Murray program and is a graduate of Murray State University.
“It’s been a joy to work with Brittney as a mentor. She is inspiring to me and our entire sales team,” said Keith Riley, senior vice president of property & casualty at Peel & Holland. “Brittney challenges herself to overcome obstacles, and she is setting the bar high when it comes to establishing goals and knocking them out of the park. Her talent lies in deep knowledge of the products she represents, and a heart for helping business owners succeed. That’s the combination we love to have on our team, and it’s why she is certainly a Rising Star.”
The Makings of a Rising Star
Competition for the Rising Star 2021 designation took into account many achievements. Here are some of Brittney’s:
- Top new business revenue producer this year, hitting her annual sales goal by mid-year
- Top participant of her ProducerFit class, an eight-week Sitkins Network Producer development training program, which consisted of 75 participants from across the country
- Featured on The Agent Leader Podcast to discuss her growth and development as a producer and how she has thrived as a woman in the industry
- Led educational workshops for local construction business owners, discussing the exposures associated with workers’ compensation and tips to be proactive with their employees
- Launched a personal Vlog (video blog) series on LinkedIn that provides helpful and relevant information about the insurance issues business owners face
A Different Approach to Insurance
“Brittney wants to transform the way consumers think about insurance. Her unique approach to sales is not only simplifying the process for the client, but also putting the client in control,” explains Paul Corder, director of sales for Peel & Holland. “Specializing in construction, she helps her clients identify risks specific to their operations by conducting thorough risk assessments before ever quoting an insurance product. This allows her to not only assess what coverages are necessary, but more importantly, gives her clients a roadmap on how to implement strategies over the long-term to mitigate risk. Annual reports are provided to her clients detailing the accomplishments and impact on their total cost of risk. That’s a level of service that sets Brittney apart.”
In his personal recommendation to IBA, agency owner Keith Riley explained how Brittney has developed into a star salesperson for Peel & Holland, citing her confidence, passion, and positive contribution to company culture. He says she has a love for her work, and that translates into her becoming a champion for her clients. “She has become a brilliant risk advisor with a mind for service.”
